ATLANTA, GEORGIA (September 2008) - Bradford Burkett, Managing Director, is scheduled to speak at the 2008 Cancer Center Business Summit to be held October 20-21 in Chicago.
“Community Oncology at the Crossroads: Building a Balanced Future” will address the financial squeeze experienced by community cancer care/oncology providers, who are experiencing declining reimbursement for chemotherapy and supportive drug therapy, and reduced payments for imaging services. Meanwhile, practice and cancer center costs are increasing due to expensive new pharmaceutical, medical, and information technologies as well as the rising cost of living. Regulatory changes such as the new Stark Phase III rules, anti-markup provisions, and reassignment rules have narrowed joint venture options. As a consequence of these developments, some of the old ways of doing business may no longer be viable. The Cancer Center Business Summit’s diverse faculty of industry experts will present and debate promising new innovations that may emerge as models for future success.
Mr. Burkett’s presentation is entitled, “The Art and Science of Financing Cancer Center Development.”
