New White Paper: “Healthcare for All: A Realistic Possibility?”

ATLANTA, GEORGIA (January 2009) - On November 4, 2008, the American people voted for the idea of change and a fresh start - including, many people believe, significant changes to the American healthcare system. The question now becomes: is significant change to the healthcare system possible in 2009 or 2010 given the other daunting challenges facing the new Administration? President Obama and a Democratic Congress are facing an economic crisis not seen since the Great Depression and a war on terror that currently has U.S. troops spread across multiple fronts. Given the backdrop, what does this mean for the U.S. healthcare system? Will the proposed reform get lost in the shuffle?

Our new white paper, "Healthcare for All: A Realistic Possibility?" examines the current state of the U.S. healthcare system, what Democratic leaders have proposed, and what is most likely to occur.
